At Elevate Plastic Surgery, Dr. Rahgozar offers an effective procedure for De Quervain’s tenosynovitis called De Quervain’s tendon sheath release.
What Is De Quervain's Tenosynovitis Surgery?
The surgery for De Quervain's tenosynovitis is called tendon release surgery. During the procedure, Dr. Rahgozar will make a small incision at the base of the affected thumb and wrist, which he will then use to cut the tendon sheath, releasing the pressure on the tendons. This will allow the tendons to move freely and reduce inflammation.
The surgery is usually performed on an outpatient basis, meaning you can go home the same day. Before the procedure, you will be given local anesthesia to numb the area, and you may also be given a sedative to help you relax during the procedure.
