Trigger thumb, also known as stenosing flexor tenosynovitis of the thumb, is a type of hand condition in which the thumb becomes stuck in a bent position and snaps straight.
Symptoms of Trigger Thumb
If your child is suffering from trigger thumb, they will likely display some or all of the following symptoms:
- Thumb becoming stuck in a locked position
- Inability to fully straighten the thumb
- A bump or nodule at the base of the thumb
- Popping or clicking of the thumb
- Pain and/or swelling at the base of the thumb
